At Birmingham Children's Hospital and throughout the West Midlands Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis Clinical Network, your Cystic Fibrosis Teams remain here for all of our patients and families.  Our priority is to ensure that we maintain the safest and most effective ways of providing care and treatment for everyone during the current lockdown period.   This has necessitated some changes to our regular routine practices such as the way in which we conduct outpatient clinics and admission to hospital for elective/non-urgent treatment.

We have all had to learn new ways of working in order to keep you safe and well.  An example would be the Zoom Clinics we have been undertaking, which some of you will have experienced, as well as telephone clinics which are currently replacing our usual face to face clinics.  Hopefully, you will understand the need for this remote way of working in the current circumstances, and you will work with us to get the very best out of these new ways of working.  With regard to hospital admissions, as with all other hospital trusts, we are only admitting patients whom we consider it absolutely necessary and those that cannot wait.  We really are 'all in this together' and we are learning together as we go along.

Our team will continue to keep you all under review and we urge you to contact us in the usual way if you have anything that you are concerned about and we will advise you of the best course of action.
