BCH see and treat children with lung (respiratory) conditions in the West Midlands.

BCH are the specialist team for children with cystic fibrosis in the West Midlands. We have close links with other specialist teams in the hospital, including the liver and endocrine teams, and help look after children with doctors from other hospitals, and general practitioners.

Our team of doctors, specialist nurses, physiotherapists, dietitians and scientists investigate and manage acute (short term) and chronic (long term) lung disease or complex respiratory conditions. These include asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease of prematurity, and primary cilliary diskinesis.

CF is a complex disease which requires a multi-disciplinary approach to care and management.   As such, there are a number of hospitals across the West Midlands who are involved in the shared care of patients.
